Deep in Snowdonia are many little valleys where
fast-flowing rivers once enabled water mills to flourish, some of them
producing woollen fabrics from the local sheep. Penmachno Mill was once a
flourishing mill, but has now closed. The old bridge nearby which was used
for transportation to and from the mill, picturesquely spans the gorge which
the little river has gouged. |
