Having lived in Ashhurst for 4 months in the late 1990s, and stayed there again for several weeks in 2003, this is a very special place to me. The lovely Anglican church is a focal point of the town, and from this view, Wharite, which is part of the Ruahine range of mountains, can be seen in the background with its mast.On our visit in 2003, I was astounded to find that the church roof is now blue!! Oops, sorry! |
